Course overview
The Security Supervisor (SS) courses are the third tier of Singapore’s Progressive Wage Model (PWM) skills ladder — the first true management level in the security career path. These WSQ modules build on your experience as a Senior Security Officer, equipping you to supervise and guide junior officers, manage operations, ensure compliance with legal and contractual frameworks, and assess and address security risks on site.
The Security Supervisor qualification is made up of one mandatory module plus two elective modules of your choice. To enrol, you’ll need at least one year of experience as a Senior Security Officer to meet the Years-in-Grade (YIG) requirement. Once certified, you’ll be ready to lead security teams and protect client interests with professionalism — and earn a higher guaranteed wage under the PWM.
The Security Progressive Wage Model, developed by the Security Tripartite Cluster (STC), ties your wages to your skills and rank — so moving up to Security Supervisor raises your guaranteed minimum wage again. The Supervisor rank is the midpoint of the five-rung career ladder:
Security Officer (SO) → Senior Security Officer (SSO) → Security Supervisor (SS) → Senior Security Supervisor (SSS) → Chief Security Officer (CSO)

The Supervisor qualification is made up of one mandatory module and two electives of your choice, each a standalone WSQ unit with its own assessment. Here’s what each module qualifies you to do.
Study security operations procedures, supervise and direct security officers, supervise emergency situations, and supervise health and safety at work.
Prepare to induct security officers, and conduct induction on access control, patrolling, security and alarm systems, and reception duties.
Interpret the job roles and responsibilities of a security supervisor, apply contractual agreements to deliver quality services, protect the client's interests, and apply your legal rights and responsibilities at the workplace.
Assess client security status, conduct site assessments, address security deficiencies, and submit findings and recommendations.

Course Pre-requisites
The Supervisor courses are designed for serving Senior Security Officers ready to move into management. You’ll need more experience and a higher level of English than the SSO course.

Course Fees
The SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) subsidy covers up to 70% of the course fee for eligible learners. Singapore Citizens aged 40 and above receive the highest subsidy tier (the Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy), while Singapore Citizens and PRs aged 21 and above receive the baseline funding.

SkillsFuture Credit is a government top-up given to every Singapore Citizen aged 25 and above to pay for approved skills courses. All Singaporeans aged 25 and above receive a $500 opening SkillsFuture Credit, and Singaporeans aged 40 and above receive an additional $4,000 Mid-Career SkillsFuture Credit. You can use your SkillsFuture Credit to offset the remaining fee after the SSG subsidy — often reducing what you pay out of pocket to as little as zero. Credits are applied after the SSG subsidy, and our team will guide you through the claim when you register. You can check your balance anytime at myskillsfuture.gov.sg.
Beyond SkillsFuture Credit, you may be able to offset fees using your PSEA (Post-Secondary Education Account) funds, or NTUC UTAP if you’re a union member. These can be combined with the SSG subsidy to further lower your cost.

What you'll earn
On passing each module’s assessment, you’ll receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment issued by SkillsFuture Singapore. Together, the three SOAs form the training qualification required for your Security Officer licence application.

You can further offset the remaining fees with SkillsFuture Credit, PSEA, or NTUC UTAP.
Yes. The Security Supervisor course builds on the Senior Security Officer level. PWM progression requires you to advance through each rank in order, and you'll need at least one year's experience as a Senior Security Officer before upgrading to Supervisor.
You're eligible if you have at least one year's experience as a Senior Security Officer, are at least 18 years old with a secondary school qualification or higher, and can listen, read, write and speak English at WPLN Level 3 or equivalent. The course is open to Singapore Citizens, PRs, and Foreigners. Applicants who don't meet these may attend an in-house interview for eligibility assessment.
Security Supervisor salaries follow the Progressive Wage Model (PWM), which sets a higher guaranteed minimum wage than the Senior Security Officer rank, rising with experience and further advancement. The Supervisor rank sits in the middle of the five-rung security wage ladder, with basic wages scheduled to increase year on year through 2028.
